Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop

Donkey Kong Country was the only game in the series that really ensnared me. After finishing the game with a completion of 100%, I watched the promotional VHS tape from Rare over and over again, until I could finally get a visualization of how my artistic rendition of  DK would be in 3D one day. I completed this piece the same year the Olympics officially dropped weight lifting from their competitions.

I modelled everything in Autodesk Maya including the title and ending motion graphics. The cannons are using a simple nParticle system and the special effects were handled in post-compositing using Adobe After Effects.

Game City is the name of a used video game store in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I created this video to serve as an advertisement on their website to promote their various locations around Edmonton. A specific of the project was that there was to be no copyright materials present in the video.

I began this piece in Pixologic zBrush and continued to complete the character topology in Autodesk Maya. Textures were hand crafted in Adobe Photoshop Extended and then I used MindTex2 to automate the process of creating a detailed texture map system consisting of normal, gloss, specular, and reflection maps. Geometry was substituted with normal maps where and when possible.

Autodesk Maya and Autodesk Motion Builder

I wrote the dialogue and performed the voice acting for this short comedic piece about a happy go lucky vampire named Necky. The head was accomplished using a face rig with blend shape controls and the body movement was accomplished with motion capture data.

I modelled the character, environment, and fire effects in Autodesk Maya, then I  hand crafted the textures for the scene in Adobe Photoshop Extended utilizing colour maps at 1024x1024, bump maps at 2048x2048, and specular, reflection, and glossy maps at 512x512. Rendering was accomplished through Mental Ray then composited in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Audition.
